King’s Business School asks challenging questions of business and wider society like: What is the meaning of work? Should business be more ethical? How can we measure productivity? What is modern slavery? Are AI and big data the future of finance?
King’s Business School (KBS) contributes towards answering these questions, changing the way business works whilst tackling the world’s major challenges for the good of the economy, the environment, society, and businesses everywhere.
The Faculty incorporates seven departments as well as several vibrant institutes and centres with broad ranging programmes of activity across research, education, impact and engagement, thought leadership, and knowledge transfer.
The Business Operations Manager is a critical role in KBS enabling the Faculty to achieve our ambitious goals through operational management and successful delivery of services underpinning business functions within our Faculty and professional services teams. This includes financial and resource management, procurement, faculty estates and space, health and safety, professional services HR, and other defined project management or operational activities.
As a member of the Faculty Business Support Team you will ensure consistent management and delivery of business operations by providing high quality and effective coordination and support, in accordance with the College’s and the Faculty’s priorities, timelines and policies. You will manage and allocate resource within your remit to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. You will line manage the Senior Business Support Officer and facilitate, guide, and enable the team to provide a high level of customer support in collaboration with key stakeholders in the Faculty and central service teams.
You will contribute to shaping the future operational delivery of the Faculty and business support functions, contributing to developing operational process and policy, in conjunction with relevant colleagues. You will role model a culture of professionalism and lead the promotion of new ideas and initiatives for more effective and efficient delivery of services through a “one team” Faculty and College approach.
This is currently offered as a hybrid role and the role holder will be eligible to spend part of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely.
